How to Enjoy Red Wine and Still Have Beautiful White Teeth
Tooth enamel protects your teeth and gives them their white look. However, as time goes by stains from food, habits like cigarette or cigar smoking, and drinks accumulate into the pores causing teeth to begin to yellow. Red wine, coffee, tea and any other dark colored drink will eventually cause stains, especially if you are a cigarette smoker.
Always keep in mind that enjoying red wine though helps your heart and is considered a healthy drink especially for women, it will in fact stain your teeth over time. Wine is acidic and is notorious for staining teeth. If you are a red wine drinker, either rinse your mouth with some white wine or with water. Rinsing or brushing after drinking wine will help your teeth from staining. If you are already unhappy with the yellowish color of your teeth, then there is a way to make them brighter again.
Try finding a company that uses 22% to 44% carbamide dioxide at a whitening agent and a custom made whitening tray that comes in a do- it- yourself kit. These kits cost anywhere as low as $80 up to only $200. You don’t require a dentist visit, so there’s no mark up in the price. There are companies who have their own in house lab so they fabricate your whitening trays right from your lab and mail it back it to you. They also come with extra whitening gels that you can store for up to 6 months to one year in the fridge.
You invest in many things to keep up your appearance. Clothes, make up, haircuts, accessories, etc. However, when it comes to making a good investment for your face, begin with your teeth first. They will make you looks years younger and will allow you still enjoy what you love to eat and drink while still maintaining a white smile.
These few tips will help you keep your whiter smile:
- Try using a straw to sip dark colored beverages to help keep your front teeth from gradually staining.
- Swallow quickly-this just means don’t keep any food or beverage in your mouth longer than you have to which often happens when people are savoring flavors.
- Rinse with water right after consumption, don’t brush. Brushing after consuming high acidic food or beverage can cause damage to your teeth.
- Follow up your whitening/bleaching process every few months with a touch up whitening using the extra gels from the kit.

Through my own career and personal experiences, I have become knowledgeable on various topics including teeth whitening systems, night guards and other ways to keep you looking great. I also worked as Vice-President of Corporate Communications for many years at a company specializing in professional teeth whitening products and night guards before I returned to freelance writing and copywriting. ProWhiteTeeth.com and Nightguardlab.com are companies that gave me the confidence to smile big and show off my white teeth and sleep better.
With its own on-site dental laboratory, a team of experienced dental technicians produces custom made bleaching trays being sold to customers globally.
